Pancreatic cancer is the third-leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States and the incidence rates are increasing. Approximately 60,430 new cases and 48,220 deaths from this disease will occur in 2021. Although chemotherapy remains the primary treatment for pancreatic cancer, new strategies including immunotherapies, targeted therapies, and novel combinations of chemotherapy are being investigated.
Physicians’ Education Resource®, LLC, is partnering with oncology expert Gayle S. Jameson, MSN, RN, ACNP-BC, AOCN, to present the live, CE-certified webcast, “Real-World Nursing Scenarios in Pancreatic Cancer: A Look at New Therapies, Treatment Sequencing, and Patient Considerations” on Thursday, April 29, 2021.
This program is designed to educate and empower nursing professionals who care for patients with pancreatic cancer. A panel of expert faculty will share data on current and emerging therapies for the treatment of pancreatic cancer, including efficacy, safety, and proper treatment sequencing. Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to garner practical insight from the faculty through inclusion of real-world case studies.
Hot topics to look forward to include:
- What’s new in the armamentarium of agents for the treatment of patients with pancreatic cancer
- The future in the treatment of pancreatic cancer: new strategies and new targets
- Optimal sequencing of therapies for pancreatic cancer throughout the disease spectrum
- Understanding how to best educate patients about their disease and treatment options and engage them in their own health care
