That’s right, you read the headline correctly. If there is one thing you can do at Congress 2019, it’s network! In addition to the top-notch educational sessions, CNE opportunities, and a bustling learning hall floor, making relationships that last a lifetime is just another bonus to attending Congress in April.
Attending Congress enables you to meet with 3,700 other like-minded people who share the same experiences in the oncology nursing profession day in and day out. They know the ups and downs and the passion and perseverance that it takes to be an oncology nurse. The one piece of feedback I always hear from attendees is, “It’s so nice to be in a room full of people who understand what I do. I don’t have to explain it over and over again.”
Here’s a highlight of some of the face-to-face networking opportunities available during Congress that you can take advantage of:
Attendee Networking Area
Located in the learning hall, this area has seating for you to take a break and network with other attendees. Roundtable discussions and the Clinical Practice Pavilion will also be in this area.
Career Fair Pavilion
Are you looking for a new career opportunity? Attend professional development workshops, visit with nurse recruiters, and receive the information and tools you need to grow professionally in the Career Fair Pavilion.
Connect with ONS oncology clinical nurse specialists and learn more about issues you face when caring for your patients. Nurses from ONS will be available after each clinical chat to answer questions and address the specific needs you have in your practice.
Continuing the Conversations
Held at the ONS Booth (#436), these small gatherings will allow you to meet with speakers in an informal, intimate setting to learn more about the session topics and ask more in-depth questions.
While Congress offers so many opportunities to advance your profession, the relationships that are created in Anaheim are connections that you will take with you long after the show floor closes!
