How comfortable are you with managing patients receiving immunotherapy? Do you need more information about approved agents and how to grade toxicity? Are you familiar with published resources about immunotherapy? Do you need a refresher on the mechanism of action for checkpoint inhibitors? Whether you answered yes or no to any of these questions, if you are an advanced practice provider in oncology, this session is for you!
Checks and Balances: Cancer Immunotherapy for the Advanced Practice Nurse is an interactive two-hour session being held Wednesday April 10, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. This is a collaborative session between ONS and the Society of Immunotherapy in Cancer (SITC). We will review the approved immunotherapy agents, describe the various mechanism of action, and discuss how they differ from traditional cancer therapies. Best practices for toxicity management and appropriate laboratory and diagnostics testing will be discussed through case studies. We will also highlight the immunotherapy resources available from ONS and SITC.
