Are you interested in attending the 2017 ONS Congress in Denver, Colorado? Are you a relatively new oncology nurse and active in your local ONS Chapter? If you answered YES! to both questions, the ONS Foundation has a scholarship for you. If you answered YES to wanting to attend ONS Congress but are not all that new to oncology nursing (okay, it’s been your life’s work), stay tuned to my next blog post, we have something for you too.
The ONS Foundation is once again pleased to provide Emerging Chapter Leader Scholarships through the ONS Lilly Oncology Advancing Patient Care Project. These scholarships enable emerging ONS Chapter leaders (those relative new to oncology nursing) to attend the ONS Congress and become part of a unique peer group within ONS. Since 2015, the ONS Foundation has provided 73 oncology nurse emerging chapter leaders with this opportunity.
Katrina F. from the Lancaster Red Rose Chapter let the ONS Foundation know that, “the application process for the Emerging Chapter Leader Scholarship was seamless and simple. It required minimal time and easily reflected the work I was doing each day. I recommend others to check it out and apply!”
The Congress planning team is creating a unique line-up of sessions and speakers that you won’t want to miss. Whether your interest is clinical practice; advanced practice; research; or leadership, management and education, there is something for you to attend during every session every day.
Application deadline is November 15th and will be here before you know it. Simply contact an officer of your chapter and let them know you plan to apply. Check out the specifics and apply today.
