Growing together, transforming care. The theme for ONS Congress was fitting as 3,977 attendees recently gathered for five content-filled days in sunny Anaheim, California.
The 44th Annual ONS Congress began with a warm welcome from ONS Board President Laura Fennimore. Following the opening ceremony was a powerful keynote presentation delivered by Rachel Walker who shared her inspirational story of becoming the first nurse selected as a prestigious Lemelson Invention Ambassador. Walker described how she is using her new platform to promote positive change for oncology nurses.
What followed was an action-packed week filled with growing, networking, and learning through the clinical practice, advanced practice, leadership/management/education, research, and radiation tracks. The power sessions also did not disappoint as attendees gathered to explore topics ranging from cutting-edge research developments to the most current clinical practice updates.
Congress 2019 was a tremendous success, and oncology nurses departed Anaheim with fresh knowledge and a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm to continue growing together and transforming care. And for those attendees, don’t forget to complete your program evaluations by 11:59 pm EST on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at myoutcomes.ons.org.
Join us next year from April 30 to May 3 for the 45th Annual ONS Congress as oncology nurses descend upon San Antonio, TX, with Power. Passion. Purpose.
