Win a Video Camera to Record Your Big Moments at Congress

Are you a natural explorer who’s always meeting new people and seeing new places? Are you somebody who doesn’t miss a thing? ONS is looking for one lucky future attendee of the upcoming 38th Annual Congress to share your story with a JVC Everio GZEX210 Wi-Fi HD video camera that you’ll get to keep after the conference. We’re looking for someone who can capture their experience on the ground with poise, enthusiasm, and a healthy dose of fun. We’ll use your video blog after Congress to build the buzz for future Congress sessions and get across the energy of our national conferences.

How to Get in the Running

Submit a video to socialmedia@ons.org by April 12 that is no longer than five minutes telling us why you’d be a great video blogger at Congress. Tell us about your nursing background, the moments you’d plan to capture, any past experiences at Congress, and what you’re most looking forward about the 2013 Congress. You may also want to answer the questions below, if relevant to you:

• Are you meeting up with friends or colleagues at Congress?
• If you’ve attended Congress in the past, how did you spend your downtime?

Expectations for the Winner

The contest winner will prepare a series of daily video blogs from Congress, posting at least once each day for the duration of the conference. He or she will be solely responsible for the content of the videos, except as otherwise specifically indicated.

If you’re selected as the winner, keep in mind that you should plan to see as much of the Congress landscape at possible. These opportunities include visiting the exhibit hall, impromptu meet-ups with friends and colleagues in the hallways, talking with booth representatives and colleagues, and jumping into networking opportunities like poster sessions. The winner also needs to be comfortable addressing the camera to chat about events that have just occurred, and engaging other nurses at Congress with the camera—the more people you introduce your audience to, the better! If going out on the town or local sightseeing are a part of your trip, these would be fun moments to cover as well.

The winner is not expected to record during times that would disrupt his or her learning experience, such as during a CNE session.

Rules and Regulations

The winner will be asked to sign a form that indemnifies ONS against any and all liabilities, claims, or damages arising from the winner’s performance as a video blogger at Congress. Although ONS retains copyright of the videos, the winner will have legal permission to reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, and publicly display the videos on his or her personal or employer’s website and in the course of nonprofit teaching and research activities.
