“Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” This famous quote is probably better applied to planning for retirement than Scarlott O’Hara’s “After all…tomorrow is another day.” You may think you don’t have time to think about retirement now or you’re too young to worry about it, but it’s time to think again.
ONS Foundation offers two sessions around planning for your financial future during Congress. “Planning for Your Retirement” covers how you can ensure you make the right financial decisions to live comfortably in retirement. “The Basics of Estate Planning” explains that estate planning isn’t just for the wealthy. Everyone wants their personal wishes to be fulfilled for their heirs—don’t let someone else make the decisions for you. Both of these sessions will get you on the right track to begin building for your retirement and planning for the future.
That’s right, use this opportunity at Congress to begin thinking and learning more about your financial future. Yes, Congress is busy and the days are already filled with so many education sessions to help you care for your patients and their families, but Congress is also a time for you. Being away from work for a few days provides the opportunity to rejuvenate yourself. Taking care of you and your family’s future is important. Take a break from the nursing education and attend a session or two just for you and your future financial health.
Because when it comes to planning for your financial future, “If not now, when?”
