Hill Day
Tuesday, April 23, 8 am–7 pm
Are you interested in learning to influence legislation for the health of your patients? Hill Day, an all-day advocacy training event, will give you an exciting look at policy change on the ground. Set on Capitol Hill, just blocks from the White House and across the street from the Supreme Court, Hill Day is your opportunity to learn the latest health policy topics and ONS priorities and then set them in motion.
Your day will begin with ONS President Mary Gullatte and ONS Health Policy Director Alec Stone, who'll brief you over breakfast about the ONS health policy agenda and the cancer care community’s biggest priorities in Washington. You’ll then network with federal agency heads and policy leaders who’ll offer their own insights throughout the day. During a working lunch, you’ll learn what to expect as an oncology nursing advocate and take part in advocacy role-play scenarios with Congressional staffers.
After visits on the hill with your state representatives and senators, you'll end your day with an evening event where ONS will present its Congressional Champions with special recognition awards. Space is limited, so don’t wait to sign up for this independent opportunity when you register for Congress.
